The Hunt for Gollum Movie

Today, May 3rd 2009 at 16:00 GMT (9:00 AM PST), Rickety Shack Films is releasing "The Hunt for Gollum"; a 40 minute independent film based on Tolkien's writings and the Lord of the Rings series.

Here is an excerpt from the official website:
"The script is adapted from elements of the appendices of The Lord of the Rings. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the "greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer."

The Hunt for Gollum will be completely free and was created for and by Tolkien enthuasists. This a low budget high quality film that looks amazing in the trailers! You can download the full length film at today after 9 AM PST!

The movie is actually quite good for a low budget film where no one makes a dime. I loved the little details that I had never really though about before. Quite a good addition to the Lord of the Rings canon!

  1. Wow. Pretty neat. I'll have to give it a watch maybe. Though 40 minutes on a computer screen might be too much for me.
